Prime Minister Modi Opens 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists


 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) this Saturday, marking a significant occasion as it is the first time in 65 years that the event has been hosted in India. The conference, which is taking place at the National Agricultural Science Centre in Delhi, has drawn attention to India's proactive stance on global food security issues.

India's Role in Global Food Security

During his address, Prime Minister Modi expressed his pleasure that India is hosting the conference after such a lengthy interval and extended a warm welcome to the international delegates. He discussed India's key position as a food surplus nation and its active role in addressing global food security challenges. Modi highlighted the agricultural diversity within India, noting its planning around six distinct seasons and management across fifteen different agricultural climatic zones, each with unique agricultural practices.

The post featured an altered image from the 1999 movie "Toy Story 2" with a dog's face on one of the characters. This was Gill's first social media activity in more than two months, triggering intense interest from retail traders. GameStop shares surged as much as 9% after Gill's post, but later settled at a 4% increase. Just 18 minutes before his tweet, a trader bought around 10,000 GameStop call options, each with a $22.5 strike price. The cost of this trade was approximately $1.74 million. Boeing Satellite Disintegrates in Space Following Mysterious ‘Anomaly’

  A Boeing-made satellite has disintegrated in orbit following an “anomaly,” leaving operators scrambling to restore service. The satellite, Intelsat 33e, which was launched in 2016 with a projected 15-year lifespan, broke apart on Saturday, resulting in widespread communication and power outages across Europe, Africa, and parts of the Asia-Pacific region. Intelsat, the service provider, reported the incident on Monday and confirmed it is working with Boeing and government agencies to analyse the cause.
